I was asked by a leading Fire Risk Management Journal if they can have permission to publish this picture of Lakanal House alongside a article explaining how social housing organisations are collaborating to develop fire safety standards. I did not hesitate and said yes, after all, any little thing that can stop this happening again must be a positive thing

Sprouting up, the Shard

This picture was taken of the Shard building near the Borough Underground Station. In the centre is the historic Anglican parish church of St Georges There has been a church on this site since the 12th century. The present building dates from 1736.

This new building sprung up at the Elephant and Castle. It is called the Strata. I do not know too much about it but when I can find the time I shall google it and have a look.

One of the large blocks of flats that make up the Heygate Estate near the Elephant and Castle. Every single flat is empty and boarded up apart from one. This block is due to be demolished as part of a regeneration scheme and all the tenants were moved out apart from one who lives on the second floor. You can see the flat on the left hand side of the picture. I presume the people did not want to move.

With the David Cameron press law taking up a lot of news print lately I have skipped over it because I found it very boring. I as a Millwall supporter get treated like muck by the press and the media in general but I do not agree with politicians telling us what we can and cannot say and that was as far as my interest went, but today I read a piece of news print that said "Ministers agreed to exclude small scale blogs" They do, do they, well bless them, who do they think they are? They have u-turned over small independent bloggers such as I. That's not the main story here, the main story is that " it's incredible that they tried to push this through in the first place" Under their original proposed press law, this very blog would come under the jackboot of the press-law police, and they say that UKIP are extremists.

Four Blogger OZ

Why four Blogspots? Well apart from the fun of using the links to zip about between Blogspots, I have tried to separate different posts and pages into some sense and order.

7 Windmills is Millwall FC history with some current stuff. Also I have included a post about Amateur Radio to add a bit of me to the Blogspot. I have also added a page about the demise of the South London Pub to add a bit of local social history.

Following Millwall FC was added by me so I could publish my current Millwall posts and pages all in the same place and also so that I could have a Blogspot with Millwall FC in it's title which should help if people are using a search engine to find Millwall FC related sites.

And of course this site, Midnight in Cold Blow Lane which is my Blogspot that has a bit of everything. For those that know Cold Blow Lane needs no introduction, for those don't it is a very famous road in South London which was the home of Millwall FC from 1910 to 1993. Before 1910 their home was on the Isle of Dogs.

Last but not least Communication fever dedicated to Amateur Radio and all that goes with it. This Blogspot is only been set up 23/0ct/2010 so it is new and nowhere near completion.

Now that's a toughy. It could be Amateur Radio, or watching Millwall play or working on my Blogspots and other computer stuff or maybe down my caravan. Maybe it's with my family on days out or away on holiday. I like to fiddle with my LDV minibus to keep it running smooth and looking neat and tidy.

I am rather keen on watching Discovery channel and similar stuff. I enjoy a long soak in the bath. I have always enjoyed music and always have it on even in the back ground while I watch telly. CONCLUSION: I think it's all of them and some.......not enough hours in the day
